        "content": "<p>New Internet provider set up<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): A new Internet provider, PT Cyberindo Aditama,<br>\nannounced yesterday that the company is launching its information<br>\nsuperhighway service, called CBNnet, on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>\"The Internet will become a mature industry in the future and<br>\nmore people will use the service,\" Cyberindo's president, Dani<br>\nSumarsono, told reporters.<\/p>\n<p>He said that Internet business in Indonesia will grow steadily<br>\nand competition will be based on services, tariff rates and<br>\naccessibility.<\/p>\n<p>\"The government has set guidelines for tariff arrangements so<br>\nthat each Internet provider only has a narrow range to compete in<br>\ntariffs,\" he said. \"The competitive advantages for the operators<br>\ninclude services and easiness for the users to get access.\"<\/p>\n<p>In addition to Cyberindo, there are currently four other<br>\nInternet providers: PT Indo Internet (Indonet), PT Aplikanusa<br>\nLintasartha (Idola), PT Rajasa Media (Radnet) and PT Sistelindo<br>\nMitralintas (Inet).<\/p>\n<p>According to Dani, there are about 15,000 Internet users in<br>\nIndonesia and Cyber expects to attract some 2,000 new individual<br>\nusers within the first year of operation.<\/p>\n<p>Cyberindo, which is partly owned by the Foundation of<br>\nTechnical Education in Indonesia, has set their registration and<br>\ninstallation fee at Rp 50,000 (US$21.80) for individual users and<br>\nRp 1 million for corporations. Individual users will have to pay<br>\nadditional charges between Rp 2,000 and Rp 3,000.<\/p>\n<p>The company charges monthly fees between Rp 15,000 and Rp<br>\n215,000 for individual users and between Rp 800,000 and Rp 1.6<br>\nmillion for corporations.
