Public health centers,<br>\nwhich provide cheap services and affordable medicines, have been<br>\nmade available in most parts of the archipelago.<\/p>\n<p>Recently the government issued a &apos;free card&apos; for poor<br>\nfamilies. Deprived people with the card get health treatment or<br>\nservices for free. Unfortunately, not all people have been<br>\ninformed about the new scheme. Worse, there are allegations that<br>\nmany &apos;free cards&apos; are owned by well-off people or families.<\/p>\n<p>Reports made by a North Jakarta hospital belonging to the<br>\nJakarta Administration said that poor families coming to the<br>\nhospital were not aware of the new health scheme.<\/p>\n<p>The government should take prompt action to tally the correct<br>\nnumber of poor people and distribute the cards to the right<br>\npeople.<\/p>\n<p>The &quot;free card&quot; case is just one of the government&apos;s failures<br>\nto increase public awareness about the scheme.
