New decree sought<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): A councilor urged the city administration
\nyesterday to produce a provincial decree on underground property
\nownership.<\/p>\n
The chairman of the city council's commission D for
\ndevelopment, Bandjar Marpaung, said that the city administration
\nshould produce a decree to regulate the ownership of underground
\nproperty.<\/p>\n
\"The regulation is needed because it may affect the
\ndevelopment of tunnels in the city. This can be seen in the
\ndevelopment of the Sudirman Business District Center in Central
\nJakarta,\" Bandjar said.<\/p>\n
He explained that the developer of the center, PT Danayasa
\nArthatama, plans to build tunnels to connect the district with
\nJl. Sudirman, Jl. Gatot Subroto and Jl. Senopati.<\/p>\n
The huge project may face stumbling blocks, as the tunnels
\nwill be under plots of land belonging to other companies or
\nindividuals, who will claim that everything built under their
\nplot must be controlled by them, Banjar said.<\/p>\n
\"In a hearing with us, the developer's president director,
\nNasroel Chas, said it is time to have a regulation to guarantee
\nthat the tunnels will not be blocked by owners of the land which
\nthe structures will pass through,\" he said.<\/p>\n
Bandjar said that the commission supports the proposal because
\ntunnels are important to ease city traffic.<\/p>\n
PT Danayasa Arthatama is constructing a super block on a 44
\nhectare area on Jl. Sudirman. Nine towers have been built by the
\ncompany, while the whole project is expected to finish in
