        "content": "<p>New coal briquet factory<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): President Soeharto will officially open a coal<br>\nbriquet factory in Gresik, East Java, Heri Supriyanto, the head<br>\nof Indonesia's briquet coal development body, said here<br>\nyesterday.<\/p>\n<p>Heri said the briquet factory run by state-owned coal mining<br>\ncompany PT Tambang Batubara Bukit Asam could make about 120,000<br>\ntons a year.<\/p>\n<p>The briquet factory is the first of its kind using local<br>\ntechnology.<\/p>\n<p>The factory uses environment-friendly technology and cost<br>\nabout Rp 8.4 billion (about US$3.5 million), he said.<\/p>\n<p>He said a number of distribution units had been founded in<br>\nSurabaya, Gresik, Jember, Sidoarjo, Pasuruan, Kediri, Madiun,<br>\nMalang and Lamongan to support briquet coal sales.<\/p>\n<p>PT Tambang Batubara has three other coal briquet factories -<br>\ntwo in Tanjung Enim, South Sumatera and another in Bandar<br>\nLampung.<\/p>\n<p>The three factories make about 7,500 tons a year, Heri said<br>\n(25)<\/p>",
