Agus<br>\nUtara Effendi on Monday as the new Bogor regent for a five-year<br>\nterm, replacing Eddie Yoso Martadipura who had held the position<br>\nfor two consecutive terms since 1988.<\/p>\n<p>Agus, who was born in Bogor on Aug. 28, 1945, graduated from<br>\nthe National Military Academy in 1968. He is a former director<br>\nfor general affairs of the Kartika Eka Paksi Foundation owned by<br>\nthe Army.<\/p>\n<p>Nuriana ordered Agus during the installation ceremony at the<br>\nBogor Legislative Council in Cibinong to give priority to<br>\nprojects badly needed by the regency.<\/p>\n<p>He explained that the regency had been forced to cut the<br>\nconstruction of its development projects from 41 to only 30 due<br>\nto the crisis.<\/p>\n<p>Agus was also asked to improve public services, especially in<br>\nissuance of permits.<\/p>\n<p>\"The service should be quick and cheap, but not create new<br>\nproblems in the future,\" Nuriana added.
