        "content": "<p>New bishop ordained<\/p>\n<p>AMBON, Maluku: Monseigneur Petrus Mandagi was ordained on<br>\nSunday to head the Amboina Roman Catholic Church, to replace<br>\nBishop Andreas Petrus Cornelius who is retiring after 30 years of<br>\nservice and dedication to the Maluku province.<\/p>\n<p>The ordainment ceremony -- held at the Sports Hall building --<br>\nwas attended by Monseigneur Pietro Sambi, the Vatican ambassador<br>\nto Indonesia. The ceremony also saw bishops from various parts of<br>\nIndonesia and also from Darwin, Australia, the Antara news agency<br>\nreported.<\/p>\n<p>A 1,000 choir, directed by priest J.B. Phantoan, also<br>\ncontributed to the ceremony. All of the hall's 5,000 seats were<br>\nfilled and some people had to follow the proceedings from outside<br>\nthe building.<\/p>\n<p>Monseigneur Mandagi, who has been serving the church in<br>\nManado, North Sulawesi, will now oversee the Catholic interests<br>\nthroughout the entire Maluku archipelago.
