        "content": "<p>Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Bahlil Lahadalia, conducted\nnegotiations for the purchase of crude oil and LPG from Russia during\nhis meeting with Russian Energy Minister Sergey Tsivilev in Russia.\n\u201cAlhamdulillah, what has been agreed upon has yielded quite good\nresults, where we can increase our crude oil reserves,\u201d Bahlil stated in\nhis remarks on Tuesday, 14 April 2026. \u201cIn addition, we will also be\nable to obtain LPG,\u201d he added. Russia expressed its readiness to support\nIndonesia\u2019s energy resilience, including supplies of oil, natural gas,\nand storage. The meeting was also attended by representatives from\nseveral Russian energy companies, including Rosneft, Ruschem,\nZarubezhneft, and Lukoil. Bahlil explained that the cooperation is being\nexplored through intergovernmental or Government-to-Government (G2G)\nschemes as well as business-to-business (B2B). It is hoped that both\napproaches can provide certainty regarding the availability of national\nenergy reserves, particularly for crude oil and LPG in Indonesia. On the\nother hand, Bahlil conveyed that Indonesia is open to expanding the\nscope of collaboration with Russia, including the development of crude\nstorage, long-term supplies of crude oil and LPG, nuclear exploration,\nand cooperation in the minerals sector. \u201cWe want all of this to truly\nprovide certainty for national energy resilience,\u201d Bahlil said. He\nassessed that the outcome of the meeting gives a positive signal for\nstrengthening national energy resilience amid uncertain global dynamics.\nBahlil views the partnership with Russia as an important option, given\nthe country\u2019s substantial energy production capacity and its experience\nin the oil and gas industry. \u201cOnce again, I am pleased today because of\nthe directive from President Prabowo to follow through thoroughly.
