        "content": "<p>PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) recorded that during the Eid\ntransport peak period from 11 to 20 March 2026, KAI served 1,695,218\ncustomers on long-distance trains and 302,561 on local trains in Java\nand Sumatra. Overall, the total number of KAI customers served reached\n1,997,779. KAI Vice President of Corporate Communication Anne Purba\nexplained that as of 21 March 2026 at 10:00 WIB, tickets sold amounted\nto 3,799,365 or 84.5 per cent of the total 4,498,696 seats provided for\nlong-distance and local train services from 11 March to 1 April 2026.\nShe stated that this increase in sales demonstrates the strengthening\npublic trust in trains as a choice for Eid travel. \u201cThe trend of\nhomecoming travel by train has continued to rise since mid-March. This\nis evident from the gradual increase in ticket sales, especially for\nlong-distance train services which are the primary choice for inter-city\ntravel,\u201d Anne said in an official statement on Saturday (21\/3\/2026). She\nexplained that for long-distance train services, ticket sales reached\n3,292,121 tickets or 92.2 per cent of the total 3,571,760 seats\nprovided. This means 279,639 seats are still available for booking by\nthe public for the return flow. Meanwhile, for local train services\nmanaged by KAI, ticket sales were recorded at 438,203 tickets or 47.3\nper cent of the total 926,936 available seats. Thus, 488,733 seats\nremain available for customers. Local train ticket sales are generally\nexpected to increase closer to departure dates as most services can only\nbe booked from H-7. In line with this increase, the daily volume of\npassengers and occupancy rate for long-distance trains from 11\u201320 March\n2026 showed a continuously rising trend, as follows: Entering 21 March\n2026, Anne noted that passenger movement remains high. As of the\nmorning, at least 174,198 long-distance train passengers were scheduled\nto travel with a temporary occupancy rate of 108.1 per cent for that day\nalone. This number still has potential to grow as ticket sales\ncontinue.<\/p>",
