        "content": "<p>Navy to push for gender equality<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): The Navy will promote gender equality for top<br>\npositions in the force, says an official.<\/p>\n<p>Rear Adm. Abu Hanifah, an assistant to the Navy chief of<br>\npersonnel affairs, said duties of strategic positions would be<br>\nmodified to accommodate the female nature.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;All soldiers, including female ones, have a right to develop<br>\ntheir military careers and the Navy leadership is committed to<br>\npromoting equality,&quot; he said in a meeting with Navy female<br>\npersonnel at the Navy Headquarters in Cilangkap, East Jakarta<br>\nyesterday.<\/p>\n<p>The Navy has had a number of middle-ranking female personnel,<br>\nincluding Lt. Col. Ida Farida, a senior staffer at the Navy<br>\nHeadquarters, Capt. Susaini, commander of Cut Nyak Dien warship<br>\nand Capt.
