        "content": "<p>Navy impounds 107 boats<\/p>\n<p>SORONG, Irian Jaya: The navy has impounded 107 fishing boats<br>\noperating illegally in the eastern waters over the past month,<br>\ncommandant of the marine battle unit of the eastern fleet,<br>\nCommodore Ripa G. Prawirosastro, said yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>Ripa said that 43 of the ships impounded during the ongoing<br>\nOperasi Trisula IV that began last month belonged to foreign<br>\ncompanies and the rest were Indonesian.<\/p>\n<p>He told Antara that 18 of the foreign ships' crew members<br>\nwould be brought to trial because they violated Indonesian laws,<br>\nsuch as incomplete documents and use of fishing equipment barred<br>\nunder local laws.<\/p>\n<p>The Trisula Operation aims at tightening security in the<br>\neastern territorial waters, which are prone to poaching by<br>\nforeign ships.(pan)<\/p>",
