Three crew members of an Indonesian Navy (TNI AL) Casa aircraft\nbelonging to the Naval Aviation Centre (Puspenerbal) were declared safe\nafter an incident during landing at Sultan Hasanuddin International\nAirport in Makassar, Maros Regency, South Sulawesi.<\/p>\n
\u201cAll three crew members are safe and uninjured,\u201d said Head of Public\nRelations of the Naval Aviation Centre (Kadispen Puspenerbal), Navy\nLieutenant Colonel Eko Hadi Setyawan, in a press release received in\nMakassar on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
The Navy aircraft, an NC 212-200 Aviocar with tail number U-6215 from\nAir Squadron 600, Air Wing 2, Puspenerbal, was carrying three Navy\npersonnel.<\/p>\n
The aircraft experienced a technical problem during landing and\nveered off runway 03-12 North-South by 26.2 metres at the airport. The\nincident occurred on Tuesday (25\/8) at around 11.21 WITA.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe aircraft was landing on Runway 03 at Sultan Hasanuddin Airport.\nMoments after touching down and performing its landing roll, the right\nmain tyre deflated or burst,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The tyre condition, according to Lieutenant Colonel Eko, caused the\naircraft to veer to the right until it left the edge of the runway.<\/p>\n
Responding to the emergency, the aircrew led by Navy Captain (P)\nGalih, together with Navy Captain (P) Nova and Navy Lieutenant (P)\nRendy, immediately carried out standard safety procedures, including an\nemergency engine cut in accordance with SOP to minimise further\nrisk.<\/p>\n
The on-site team has secured the location, coordinated with Sultan\nHasanuddin Air Force Base and the airport operator, and carried out tyre\nreplacement before evacuating the aircraft to the apron at Hasanuddin\nAir Force Base. A technical inspection has been conducted.<\/p>\n
A day earlier, a Sukhoi Su-30 MK2 fighter jet also experienced a\nsimilar incident, veering off runway 13 (13-21) while landing at Sultan\nHasanuddin Airport on Monday, 24 August 2026.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe aircraft and all crew are in safe condition. The aircraft was\nsubsequently towed to the maintenance hangar for inspection and prepared\nfor the next test,\u201d said Head of Public Relations of the Indonesian Air\nForce (Kadispenau), Air Vice Marshal I Nyoman Suadnyana, in a press\nrelease received in Makassar on Monday.<\/p>\n
He confirmed that the incident occurred during a test flight sequence\nfor the Sukhoi Su-30 MK2 fighter jet after completing a heavy\nmaintenance overhaul.<\/p>\n
