        "content": "<p>Jakarta \u2014 The Chief of Staff of the Navy (KSAL), Admiral Muhammad\nAli, expressed hope that the arrival of the aircraft carrier Giuseppe\nGaribaldi (C551) could be expedited to before the TNI Anniversary in\n2026. Originally, he had targeted the Fincantieri-built carrier to\narrive before 5 October 2026.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHopefully it can arrive earlier, before the TNI Anniversary \u2014 that\u2019s\nthe hope,\u201d said Ali during a press conference at Kolinlamil Dock in\nNorth Jakarta on Wednesday (11 March 2026).<\/p>\n<p>According to Ali, the Indonesian Navy is working to ensure that the\nfirst aircraft carrier can strengthen maritime defence of the Republic\nof Indonesia as soon as possible. He stated that negotiations between\nthe Defence Ministry (Kemenhan), the Italian government, and Fincantieri\nremain ongoing.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, Ali continued, approximately 100 Indonesian Navy\npersonnel designated as future aircraft carrier crew are being prepared\nto undergo training in Italy. Ali explained that the training is being\nconducted to ensure that the prospective crew members are capable of\noperating the Garibaldi.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTraining will continue to be carried out, and how best to proceed\nwill be decided by the Defence Ministry,\u201d Ali clarified.<\/p>",
