Natuna (ANTARA) - The Natuna Regency Government (Pemkab) in Riau\nIslands Province (Kepri) is collaborating with the US Consulate for\nSumatra to enhance education quality in the border region. Head of the\nNatuna Regency Education Office, Hendra Kusuma, in Natuna on Monday,\nstated that the US Consulate for Sumatra held a workshop on\nstrengthening English language teaching for teachers in Natuna Regency.\nThe event lasted two days. The first day took place at the Idrus M Tahar\nLibrary Building in Natuna from morning to afternoon on Monday.\nParticipants were English teachers from various levels in Natuna. For\nthe event, Pemkab Natuna provided facilities and brought in the\nteachers. Hendra assessed that English needs to be studied because it is\nan international language used in many fields, such as education,\nbusiness, technology, and global communication. To learn it effectively\nrequires specific methods. \u201cToday\u2019s event is hoped to be followed\nseriously, and the knowledge gained can be shared back with students at\nschool,\u201d he said.
