        "content": "<p>The national road connecting Tulungaglagung and Trenggalek regencies,\nEast Java, has officially been closed starting this Tuesday to support\nthe repair project of the Gondang Bridge in Bendungan Village, Gondang\nDistrict.<\/p>\n<p>The Head of Traffic Unit of Tulungagung Police, AKP Taufik Nabila,\nstated that the closure is in effect from 14:30 WIB until 11 December\n2026, spanning approximately the next six months. According to him, the\nrepairs are being carried out by the National Road Implementation Centre\n(BBPJN) of the Ministry of Public Works following damage to the bridge\u2019s\nfoundation structure, which serves as a primary artery connecting the\ntwo regencies.<\/p>\n<p>During the closure, two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles will be\ndiverted through three alternative routes: the Gondang-Kauman route, the\nMojoarum-Pampang route, and the Malasan-Gempolan route. Meanwhile,\nfreight vehicles and heavy tonnage vehicles are required to pass through\nthe Tamanan Four-Way Intersection towards Bandung District, before\nreturning to the national road heading towards Trenggalek.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSix-wheeled vehicles are not permitted to use the alternative routes\nprepared for light vehicles and will face enforcement if they violate\nthe regulations,\u201d said Taufik.<\/p>\n<p>To support the traffic engineering measures, the Tulungagung Police,\ntogether with the Department of Transportation, have deployed\napproximately 20 joint personnel at several strategic points. Officers\nare stationed at the Tamanan Four-Way Intersection, the Kauman Four-Way\nIntersection, and in front of the Gondang Police Sub-district to direct\nroad users towards the prepared diversion routes.<\/p>\n<p>The police anticipate potential traffic congestion during the initial\nperiod of the closure as motorists adapt to the changes in travel\nroutes. However, conditions are expected to gradually normalise once the\npublic becomes accustomed to the traffic engineering patterns\nimplemented during the project.<\/p>",
