Jakarta (ANTARA) - National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit\nPrabowo, outlined several innovations developed by the police to\nincrease agricultural productivity while also utilising crop waste to\nsupport national food security.<\/p>\n
In a report presented to President Prabowo Subianto during a\nsimultaneous corn harvest event in the second quarter of 2026 in Tuban\nRegency, East Java, on Saturday, Sigit stated that the police are\ncollaborating with local micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to\nprocess corn cob waste into alternative energy sources.<\/p>\n
Sigit, in a statement in Jakarta, said that the utilisation of\nagricultural by-products is being carried out through the development of\ncorn cob briquettes called \u201cmiracle carbon\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs an alternative energy source for household needs, supporting\nMSMEs, heating chicken coops, and replacing firewood,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
He explained that this innovation is part of an effort to increase\nthe added value of agricultural products while also supporting the\ndevelopment of a community-based economy in the food sector.<\/p>\n
In addition to processing agricultural waste, the police are also\ndeveloping precision fertiliser based on coal to help improve the\nquality of agricultural land.<\/p>\n
Sigit said that this fertiliser can increase soil acidity levels\nwhile also improving nutrient content, thereby supporting plant\nproductivity.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe innovation of precision fertiliser based on coal is beneficial\nfor increasing the pH by one to two levels, while also restoring\nnutrients, so that it can enrich the soil and make plants healthier,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>\n
The National Police Chief added that this fertiliser innovation has\nbeen implemented on cornfields in West Java and Papua as part of a\nprogram to increase national food production.<\/p>\n
In addition, the police are also developing several technologies to\nsupport modern agriculture, including vertical dryers, corn shelling\nmachines, soil testers, solar-powered pumps, atmospheric water\ngenerators, and mobile rotary dryers.<\/p>\n
According to Sigit, the use of this technology aims to improve the\nefficiency of post-harvest processes and help farmers maintain the\nquality of their products.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhich is useful for drying corn evenly and more cleanly without\nhaving to bring the harvest to the warehouse,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
