        "content": "<p>National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has instructed all\npersonnel to maintain full alert status in anticipation of potential\nnatural disasters during the 2026 Lebaran holiday period. The Police\nChief requested that disaster response teams and supporting\ninfrastructure be prioritised to ensure the safety of holiday travellers\non hazard-prone routes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSpecial vigilance is required against potential hydrometeorological\ndisasters, particularly in southern Indonesian regions such as Java,\nBali, and Nusa Tenggara,\u201d said General Sigit during the Operasi Ketupat\n2026 troop mobilisation ceremony at the Monas monument in central\nJakarta on Thursday (12 March 2026).<\/p>\n<p>In his directive, he referenced meteorological agency reports\npredicting cloudy to heavy rainfall conditions during the 2026 Lebaran\nexodus period. Consequently, the Police Chief instructed all personnel\non duty to maintain full readiness to face all potential natural\ndisasters.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor this reason, preparedness is required, including the deployment\nof disaster response teams, supporting facilities and infrastructure, as\nwell as disaster management measures at the pre-disaster,\nduring-disaster, and post-disaster phases,\u201d General Sigit added.<\/p>\n<p>Specifically, the Police Chief ordered enhanced routine patrols\ninvolving community security personnel, particularly at high-risk\nlocations and times. All police station and police district personnel\nwere instructed to conduct field surveys of homes vacated by holiday\ntravellers.<\/p>\n<p>He also requested that personnel provide vehicle parking services to\ngive the public confidence when travelling for the holiday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOptimise the 110 police service line to deliver responsive and\neffective police services so that the public can experience the presence\nof our officers,\u201d the Police Chief said.<\/p>\n<p>Traffic Management<\/p>\n<p>On the same occasion, the Police Chief stated that peak outbound\ntraffic is predicted to occur in two waves, namely 14-15 March and 18-19\nMarch. Meanwhile, the peak return traffic is predicted to occur on 24-25\nMarch and 28-29 March.<\/p>\n<p>The government has prepared various traffic management measures\nduring the 2026 Lebaran period, including freight vehicle restrictions,\nimplementation of one-way systems, contraflow arrangements, and odd-even\nnumber plate schemes, as well as sea crossing management and conversion\nof vehicle weighing facilities into rest areas.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor this reason, I hope all personnel will adhere to and disseminate\nimplementation of these measures so they can be properly understood and\ncarried out,\u201d he said.<\/p>",
