The Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Nanik S. Deyang,\nstated that the agency will involve nutrition experts and paediatricians\nin the BGN Advisory Board to support the implementation of the Free\nNutritious Meal (MBG) programme.<\/p>\n
Speaking at the State Palace in Jakarta on Monday, Nanik noted, \u201cThe\nBGN Advisory Board will be composed of nutrition professors and\npaediatricians.\u201d She explained that the Advisory Board has been part of\nthe BGN\u2019s structure since the agency\u2019s inception and is tasked with\nproviding direction and guidance to the BGN leadership in executing the\nagency\u2019s programmes.<\/p>\n
In addition to nutritionists, the inclusion of paediatricians is\nintended to strengthen the nutritional and health aspects of the MBG\nprogramme. Nanik stated that the Advisory Board will serve as a support\nmechanism for the BGN leadership in fulfilling the agency\u2019s duties and\nresponsibilities. The board will consist of seven members, five of whom\nare expected to be nutrition experts.<\/p>\n
According to Nanik, during the initial formation of the BGN,\nPresident Prabowo Subianto prioritised the involvement of foundations\noperating in the social, educational, and religious sectors in the\nprogramme.
