        "content": "<p>JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The National Human Rights Commission (Komnas\nHAM) suspects that a dozen or more people are involved in the case of\nthe acid attack on Andrie Yunus, Deputy Coordinator of KontraS.<\/p>\n<p>Komnas HAM Commissioner Saurlin Siagian stated that this suspicion is\nbased on identifications up to Wednesday (8\/4\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs of today, we have indications of more than four (people involved\nin the acid attack on Andrie Yunus). A dozen,\u201d said Saurlin at the\nKomnas HAM office in Menteng, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>He emphasised that Komnas HAM is continuing to gather information\nregarding the possible involvement of other parties beyond the four TNI\nsoldiers suspected in the acid attack on Andrie Yunus.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur focus is on trying to find information related to the\ninvolvement of other parties besides the four individuals who have\nalready been named as suspects,\u201d Saurlin explained.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are trying to investigate that to see the possibility of judicial\nproceedings outside of military courts,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>The acid attack incident on Andrie Yunus occurred on Thursday night\n(12\/3\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>KontraS Working Body Coordinator Dimas Bagus Arya explained that the\nincident began after Andrie finished recording a podcast at the office\nof the Indonesian Legal Aid Foundation in Menteng.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe recording session ended around 23:00 WIB,\u201d said Dimas.<\/p>\n<p>Local residents then provided assistance. The perpetrator fled\ntowards Jalan Salemba Raya.<\/p>\n<p>Injured, Andrie briefly returned to his residence before being taken\nto RSCM for medical treatment in the early hours of Friday\n(13\/3\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>Based on the medical team\u2019s examination, Andrie Yunus suffered\ninjuries to his right eye and 20 per cent burns to his body due to the\nacid attack.<\/p>\n<p>Subsequently, four soldiers from the TNI\u2019s Strategic Intelligence\nAgency (BAIS) were detained in connection with the alleged involvement\nin the incident. They are Captain NDP, Lieutenant SL, Lieutenant BHW,\nand Sergeant ES.<\/p>\n<p>This development also led to the resignation of the TNI BAIS Head,\nYudi Abrimantyo, as a form of accountability.<\/p>\n<p>The four individuals were then named as suspects in the alleged acid\nattack case on Andrie Yunus on 18 March 2026.<\/p>\n<p>The suspects are charged under Article 467 of the Criminal Code for\nplanned assault, with a minimum prison sentence of four years and a\nmaximum of seven years.<\/p>",
