National discipline relevant<\/p>\n
Although we have finished celebrating the Idul Fitri holiday
\nwe would like to note the special need to continue the national
\ndiscipline movement. According to information from the police,
\nroad accidents during Ramadhan 1995 decreased sharply compared to
\nthose during the same period last year.<\/p>\n
However, we are still concerned about various incidents that
\nhappened during this period. The government allowed a 25 percent
\nincrease in bus fares for people traveling to their homes outside
\nJakarta. In reality, some transportation companies increased
\ntheir fares by more than 25 percent.<\/p>\n
Many drivers were found to have violated the traffic
\nregulations along sections of roads which caused traffic
\ncongestion. This indicates that Indonesian road users still lack
\ndiscipline and a sense of responsibility. The problem of
\ndiscipline therefore needs to be re-emphasized nationally,
\nbecause discipline is highly relevant and all parties must become
\nconcerned about the lack of it.<\/p>\n
