Eva Stevany Rataba, a member of the House of Representatives (DPR RI)\nfrom the NasDem faction, has spoken out following widespread reports\nthat she was listed in decile 4 as a recipient of assistance under the\nFamily Hope Programme (PKH). Eva insisted she has never received PKH\nassistance.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn connection with the circulating reports regarding my name being\nlisted in the decile 4 group, I need to convey a clarification so that\nthe public receives accurate information and no misunderstanding\narises,\u201d Eva said in a statement on Tuesday (8\/9\/2026).<\/p>\n
\u201cI affirm that I have never received social assistance from the\nFamily Hope Programme (PKH) and have never registered myself as a\nrecipient of such social assistance,\u201d she continued.<\/p>\n
It is understood that Eva came under the spotlight on social media\nafter her name was alleged to have been included in decile 4 of the\nNational Socio-Economic Single Data (DTSEN). She was also said to be\nregistered as a recipient of PKH social assistance.<\/p>\n
Eva said she was baffled when she learned she had been placed in\ndecile 4. She said she immediately raised the matter during a meeting of\nCommission X of the DPR RI with Statistics Indonesia (BPS).<\/p>\n
\u201cI immediately questioned how such a thing could happen, and asked\nthat the source and data collection process be examined,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
The legislator, who represents the South Sumatra III electoral\ndistrict, has also personally visited the Social Services Office of\nNorth Toraja Regency to request an explanation. In addition, she went\nthere to ensure the data would be promptly examined and corrected in\naccordance with the actual circumstances.<\/p>\n
\u201cI must also clarify that being listed in decile 4 does not\nautomatically mean a person has ever received PKH. Decile data is a\ngrouping of socio-economic conditions, whereas the determination of\nsocial assistance recipients goes through its own process and\nrequirements,\u201d she explained.<\/p>\n
\u201cTherefore, reports or statements claiming that I have ever received\nPKH assistance are untrue and not in accordance with the facts. I hope\nall parties will not rush to draw conclusions before conducting\nexaminations and confirmation with the relevant authorities,\u201d she\nadded.<\/p>\n
Eva views the incident as a moment to improve the socio-economic data\ncollection system. She said data errors could have an impact on members\nof the public who genuinely need assistance.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf even the data of a member of the DPR RI can be wrong, there is\ncertainly a possibility that people who truly need assistance are also\nexperiencing data collection errors.
