Name cards cause trouble<\/p>\n
SURABAYA: A 64-year-old man has been interrogated by
\nprosecutors for distributing his name cards bearing a picture of
\nIndonesia's first president, Sukarno, since 1991.<\/p>\n
Sallie Roeswandi's red name cards said \"Admirer and
\nmouthpiece of Bung Karno\" and included a head shot of the
\ncountry's proclaimer of independence.<\/p>\n
Accompanied by 17 defense lawyers, he appeared Monday at the
\ncity's prosecutors' office for questioning on his motives for
\nprinting the cards.<\/p>\n
\"I have been Bung Karno's admirer since Japanese occupation
\n(1942-1945). Since getting these name cards printed, I have made
\na lot of friends who will listen to my lectures on Bung Karno's
\nteachings,\" he told The Jakarta Post.<\/p>\n
He said a team of prosecutors had asked many questions on
\nMarhaenism and Sukarno's other teachings and on ex-president's
\nalleged involvement in the Indonesian Communist Party.<\/p>\n
Sallie, who heads the Indonesian Workers Union's Gresik
\nchapter, said the interrogation was meant to \"distort the
