Daniel Siad, a modelling scout known to have had a professional\nrelationship with the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, has been found\ndead at his residence in Colombes, a suburb of Paris. His death comes as\nFrench authorities continue to investigate a number of complaints\nagainst him and an alleged human trafficking network linked to\nEpstein.<\/p>\n
The Nanterre public prosecutor\u2019s office stated that Siad\u2019s body was\ndiscovered on Monday evening. The 69-year-old was found at his home in\nColombes, in the Hauts-de-Seine area northwest of Paris. Local judicial\npolice have been tasked with investigating the cause of death.<\/p>\n
The prosecutor\u2019s office also ordered an autopsy. As of the time of\nreporting, authorities have not announced the official cause of Siad\u2019s\ndeath.<\/p>\n
His lawyer, Menya Arab-Tigrine, told Reuters that Siad died of a\nheart attack. However, this account remains a statement from the defence\nand has not yet been confirmed as the official conclusion of the\nforensic investigation.<\/p>\n
Network Investigation Continues<\/p>\n
Siad\u2019s death does not halt the broader investigation into alleged\nhuman trafficking and financial crimes within the network of individuals\nconnected to Epstein.<\/p>\n
Paris Prosecutor Laure Beccuau said the investigation will proceed.\nAround 10 investigators are still working on the case.<\/p>\n
Since the wide-ranging inquiry was opened in February 2026, a total\nof 24 women have come forward to authorities or been identified. They\nhave provided testimony as victims or witnesses regarding alleged acts\nlinked to Siad or other parties.<\/p>\n
During the investigation, Siad had been the target of several special\ninvestigative measures, including telephone tapping. However, the Paris\nProsecutor\u2019s Office said the surveillance results had not yet yielded\nsufficient evidence to justify an immediate arrest of Siad.<\/p>\n
Siad also never had the opportunity to be questioned directly by\ninvestigators before his death.
