The process of extinguishing a land fire on the border between Legian\nand Denpasar, specifically on Jalan Naklam, Gang Jatayu, Pemecutan\nKelod, West Denpasar, Bali, is estimated to require two to three days.\nThe area of land burnt has reached approximately five hectares.<\/p>\n
The Head of the Denpasar City Fire and Rescue Service (Damkarmat), I\nMade Tirana, revealed that 12 units have been deployed to handle the\nfire. He added that the operation is also being supported by six fire\nengines from the Badung Regency.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe area is about 4 to 5 hectares,\u201d said Tirana on Tuesday\n(1\/9\/2026).<\/p>\n
Tirana explained that the fire is located in an area close to\nresidential settlements. Nearby, there are lands and warehouses\nfrequently used by scavengers to collect waste.<\/p>\n
Tirana admitted that firefighters are facing obstacles as several\nfire points are covered by corrugated iron from old warehouse roofs.\nCurrently, field officers are awaiting heavy excavators to dismantle the\nmaterials covering the hotspots.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf the heavy equipment arrives quickly, we can resolve this faster.\nThe extinguishing process will take roughly two to three days,\u201d Tirana\nstated.<\/p>\n
\u201cGiven the vastness of the area and the challenging terrain we are\nhandling, everything is covered in corrugated iron,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
Tirana confirmed that there were no casualties in the fire. He urged\nresidents to increase their vigilance against potential fire risks,\nespecially during hot weather and prolonged droughts.<\/p>\n
\u201cStay alert and ensure that no Denpasar residents burn rubbish\nindiscriminately,\u201d he concluded.<\/p>\n
The land fire was first discovered on Monday night (31\/8). Hundreds\nof households (KK) have been affected by the fire on the Legian-Denpasar\nborder.<\/p>\n
Observations on Tuesday afternoon showed that several buildings\naround the fire site appeared burnt and levelled to the ground. Asmuni,\na resident whose house was caught in the fire, stated that approximately\n100 houses were affected.<\/p>\n
Another resident, Tukiran, claimed to have heard explosions when the\nfire broke out on Monday night. According to him, several vehicles and\nsemi-permanent buildings in the vicinity were also burnt.<\/p>\n
