The Badung Regency Government is preparing to launch the Nak Badung
Scholarship Programme for 2026 on June 9. The initiative is designed as
a strategic investment to cultivate high-quality human resources for
Indonesia’s Golden Era 2045 through equitable and fair quality
education.

‘The programme will be launched on June 9, with universities able to
sign partnership agreements with the regency. This year, 450
scholarships are allocated, and we hope to meet this quota,’ said Badung
Regent I Wayan Adi Arnawa on Friday, May 29, 2026.

The Badung Regency Government has finalised the scholarship scheme
and regulations. Regent Adi has directly presented these to Bali’s
university leaders.

The initiative is part of Badung’s Medium-Term Regional Development
Plan (RPJMD) 2025-2029. According to Adi, the scholarship is necessary
to boost the quality and competitiveness of local residents.

‘How can we be masters in our own country without capable human
resources? Therefore, I hope this outreach will align our understanding
and strengthen our collective commitment to producing a generation that
excels and is globally competitive,’ said Adi Arnawa.

The scholarships are divided into two target categories: Motivation
Scholarships for high school students, and Affirmation Scholarships for
undergraduate students pursuing bachelor’s degrees, D4 diplomas, and
professional programmes.

The government prioritises collaborating with universities offering
quality study programmes with at least ‘good’ or ‘very good’
accreditation. This ensures graduates meet high quality standards.

The programme has a quota of 450 seats, equally allocated between
public and private universities. Due to limited slots, the government
will implement a fair verification system prioritising applicants who
submit their administrative documents earliest.

To prevent eligible poor citizens from being overlooked, Badung
Regency will tighten assessment criteria, including on-the-ground
factual verification. This ensures that parents’ status as farmers is
genuine and not merely formal.
",
