        "content": "<p>JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Nadiem Makarim\u2019s lawyer, Dody Abdulkadir,\nrevealed that his client\u2019s condition is improving after undergoing\nsurgery following the sentencing hearing in the alleged corruption case\ninvolving the procurement of Chromebook-based laptops.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHis condition is gradually improving,\u201d said Dody, when contacted by\nKompas.com, on Friday (15 May 2026).<\/p>\n<p>However, Dody has not yet been able to confirm when Nadiem will be\nallowed to leave the hospital.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ll wait for the doctor,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI will undergo surgery tonight. I am sad, I am disappointed, my\nfamily is very upset by (the charges),\u201d said Nadiem, tearfully after the\nsentencing hearing.<\/p>\n<p>Nadiem admitted that it was difficult to describe his feelings about\nthe legal process he is undergoing.<\/p>\n<p>He said that his health condition required him to undergo surgery\nimmediately.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut, I have to undergo surgery tonight, because if not, it will have\nan increasingly severe impact on me,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The panel of judges set the date for the defence hearing, or plea,\nfor Nadiem Makarim, to be held on 2 June 2026.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo, to submit the defence, there will probably be a defence from the\ndefendant and a defence from the lawyer.
