        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Corruption Court Panel at the Central Jakarta\nDistrict Court has postponed the trial in the alleged Chromebook\ncorruption case until Monday (4\/5).<\/p>\n<p>Presiding Judge Purwanto Abdullah stated that the postponement was\ndue to the condition of the Minister of Education, Culture, Research,\nand Technology for the 2019\u20132024 period, Nadiem Anwar Makarim, who has\nbeen hospitalised since Saturday (25\/4).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe panel of judges has deliberated on this matter. Essentially, the\npanel has considered the events in the trial and the defendant\u2019s\ncondition,\u201d said the Presiding Judge during the session at the\nCorruption Court at the Central Jakarta District Court on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Accordingly, the panel of judges will wait until Nadiem\u2019s condition\nimproves, as a doctor\u2019s letter states that Nadiem must rest for nine\ndays, from Saturday (25\/4) to Sunday (3\/5).<\/p>\n<p>In the alleged corruption case of the education digitalisation\nprogramme involving the procurement of Chromebook laptops and Chrome\nDevice Management (CDM) within the Ministry of Education, Culture,\nResearch, and Technology for the years 2019-2022, Nadiem is charged with\ncorruption that harms the state finances by Rp2.18 trillion.<\/p>\n<p>The corruption is alleged to have been committed, among others, by\ncarrying out the procurement of information and communication\ntechnology-based learning facilities in the form of Chromebook laptops\nand CDM for the 2020, 2021, and 2022 fiscal years not in accordance with\nthe procurement planning and procurement principles.<\/p>\n<p>Nadiem\u2019s actions are charged as being committed jointly with three\nother defendants in separate trials, namely Ibrahim Arief alias Ibam,\nMulyatsyah, and Sri Wahyuningsih, as well as Jurist Tan, who is\ncurrently a fugitive.<\/p>\n<p>Through these actions, Nadiem is alleged to have received money\namounting to Rp809.59 billion originating from PT Aplikasi Karya Anak\nBangsa (PT AKAB) through PT Gojek Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>It is stated that the majority of PT AKAB\u2019s funds come from a Google\ninvestment of US$786.99 million.<\/p>\n<p>This can be seen from Nadiem\u2019s wealth recorded in the State\nOrganiser\u2019s Wealth Report (LHKPN) for 2022, which includes the\nacquisition of securities worth Rp5.59 trillion.<\/p>\n<p>For his actions, the former Minister of Education, Culture, Research,\nand Technology faces a penalty as stipulated in Article 2 paragraph (1)\nor Article 3 in conjunction with Article 18 of Law No.\u00a031 of 1999 on the\nEradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended and supplemented\nby Law No.\u00a020 of 2001 jo.
