Myanmar, Thailand discuss border<\/p>\n
BANGKOK (AFP): A senior Myanmarese military delegation arrived
\nhere on Monday for high-level talks on border affairs with its
\nThai counterpart, state-run Radio Rangoon reported.<\/p>\n
The 19-member delegation was headed by Myanmar's South Eastern
\nArmy Region Commander Maj. Gen. Ket Sein, the report said in a
\ndispatch monitored here.<\/p>\n
The talks which scheduled to be held in the northern Thai city
\nPhitsanulok was 11th regular meeting after the two countries set
\nup the border committee in 1989, according to the radio.<\/p>\n
The Thai-Myanmarese border has been a focus of tension in
\nrecent weeks between the neighboring countries.<\/p>\n
The Thais have been concerned about the fate of thousands of
\nethnic Karen who fled Yangon offensives since earlier this year
\nand have been camped along Thailand's western border.<\/p>",
