Chairman of the MPR RI, Ahmad Muzani, responded to the dynamics of\nthe war between the US-Israel and Iran. He hopes that ahead of Eid\nal-Fitr, the countries in the Persian Gulf region will exercise\nrestraint so that the war does not escalate and spread.<\/p>\n
According to him, a reduction in the intensity of the war will\nprovide assurance for Muslims to celebrate Eid al-Fitr safely and\npeacefully. That is why Muzani urged that the US-Israel war with Iran be\nstopped.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are grateful that the leaders of the Gulf countries can exercise\nrestraint. This is as a respect for Muslims to be able to celebrate the\nEid al-Fitr moment safely and peacefully. We are also grateful that\nSaudi Arabia, as the guardian of the two Holy Lands of Mecca and Medina,\ncan guarantee the smooth continuation of Umrah worship so far,\u201d said\nMuzani in his statement on Wednesday (18\/3\/2026).<\/p>\n
Muzani continued that if the war is stopped, global difficulties such\nas the oil crisis will have a positive impact on the world economy.\nMoreover, Muslims will soon perform the Hajj pilgrimage. Therefore, it\nis important for all countries to engage in dialogue, prioritising\ndiplomacy as the key to peace.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have witnessed the world for decades in a state of peace through\ndiplomacy. Therefore, it is important for every leader to return to\ndiplomatic dialogue as the main way to create peace,\u201d explained\nMuzani.<\/p>\n
Muzani stated that since the US-Israel war with Iran broke out,\nIndonesia under the leadership of President Prabowo has been very\nresponsive in playing an active role in stopping the war. Although the\nimplications of President Prabowo\u2019s joining the Board of Peace have\nsparked debate among Indonesian society.<\/p>\n
\u201cDifferences in views are normal in a democratic country like\nIndonesia. However, spaces for dialogue remain a priority, that the\npresident\u2019s stance is an effort in diplomacy so that peace can be\nachieved. This is what was done by our previous leaders in the early\ndays of independence,\u201d explained Muzani.<\/p>\n
Finally, Muzani urged Indonesians not to be easily divided due to\ndiffering views. According to him, unity and integrity are paramount so\nthat Indonesia can become a strong nation and be considered in the\nglobal world ahead.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe must not be easily provoked by sensitive issues that can divide\nour unity. As citizens, we must build a sense of trust in our leader,\nour government, our President.
