        "content": "<p>Kuala Lumpur (ANTARA) - Muslims in Malaysia will celebrate Eid\nal-Adha 1447 Hijriah on May 27, 2026, according to Acting Assistant\nSecretary of the Conference of Rulers, Muhammad Affendi Jalaludin.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement broadcast on local Malaysian television Sunday night,\nAffendi also stated that the date of 1 Zulhijjah 1447 Hijriah will fall\non Monday (May 18, 2026).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn accordance with the command of His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan\nAgong, and with the approval of His Majesty the Rulers, I, on behalf of\nthe Keeper of the Seals of the Rulers, hereby declare that the date of 1\nZulhijjah 1447 Hijriah falls on May 18, 2026,\u201d said Affendi.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTherefore, Eid al-Adha, which falls on the 10th of Zulhijjah, for\nall Muslim countries in Malaysia is set for Wednesday, May 27, 2026,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>\n<p>The date of Eid al-Adha celebrations in Malaysia is the same as that\ndetermined by the Indonesian government.<\/p>\n<p>The Indonesian government, through the Ministry of Religious Affairs\n(Kemenag), announced that 1 Zulhijjah 1447 Hijriah\/2026 AD falls on\nMonday, May 18, 2026, so Eid al-Adha falls on Wednesday, May 27,\n2026.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBased on the results of hisab and reports of lunar sightings, it was\nagreed that 1 Zulhijjah 1447 Hijriah falls on Monday, May 18, 2026, thus\nEid al-Adha falls on Wednesday, May 27, 2026,\u201d said Religious Affairs\nMinister Nasaruddin Umar when delivering the results of the Isbat\nsession in Jakarta, Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>The decision was obtained after monitoring (rukyatul) the new moon\nfrom 88 different locations in Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>From the monitoring results, the crescent moon has exceeded the\ncriteria set by the Ministers of Religious Affairs of Brunei, Indonesia,\nMalaysia and Singapore (MABIMS) regarding the new Hijri month, which\nrequires a lunar height of 3 degrees and an elongation of 6.4\ndegrees.<\/p>",
