Museno opens city meeting<\/p>\n
Deputy Governor R.S. Museno opened a two-day coordination
\nmeeting between the municipal social office and the city chapter
\nof the ministry of social services on Monday.<\/p>\n
Governor Surjadi Soedirdja in his written speech read by
\nMuseno said that the meeting was held to forge stronger
\ncoordination and cooperation between the provincial
\nadministration's body and the central government's body.<\/p>\n
He also stressed that the government should avoid overlapping
\nof their jobs and the municipal office of social services should
\nbase its activities on the 1983 Provincial Regulation No. 9 which
\nregulates its formation, function and organizational structure.
\nAlong these lines, he said the city chapter of the ministry of
\nsocial services should base its activities on the 1984 decree No.
\n16 issued by the minister of social services regarding the city
\nchapter's organization and working procedures.<\/p>\n
The governor also urged the participants attending the meeting
\nto find ways not only to solve the city's nagging problems such
\nas those of the disabled, orphans, beggars, prostitution, but
\nalso a number of new problems such as male prostitution.<\/p>\n
