Murderer gets 20 years<\/p>\n
CURUP, Bengkulu: Alamsyah alias Syah bin Murni, aged 23, was
\nsentenced to 20 years yesterday after prosecutors proved his
\ninvolvement in the robbery and murder of a family in August 1995.<\/p>\n
Alamsyah committed the crime in Dusun Baru village, Rejang
\nLebong regency, allegedly together with six others: Zul Kopli,
\nAwan bin Abunawi, Isman bin Misnan, Yaseri, Manbo, and Win,
\naccording to Antara.<\/p>\n
The robbers broke into Hasanudin's house and took some jewelry
\nand Rp 300,000 (US$126) in cash. They then killed Hasanudin, 38,
\nhis wife Iyem, 35, and his three children Pendi, Bambang and Ida.<\/p>\n
The bodies were burned along with the hut. Martina,
\nHasanudin's 8-year-old daughter, was the only survivor of the
\nmassacre because she managed to jump out of a window and hide.<\/p>\n
She was also the sole witness to the crime.<\/p>\n
In a previous trial Isman and Awan also each got 20 years and
\nZul Kopli was acquitted. Yaseri and Win are still at large while
\nManbo died in a brawl in September 1995.<\/p>\n
