Murder suspect to be analyzed<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): A housewife who confessed to slaying her
\nmentally disabled daughter is scheduled to undergo a
\npsychological examination on Monday, an officer has said.<\/p>\n
West Jakarta Police detectives chief Maj. Idham Azis said on
\nSunday that a thorough examination of 52-year-old Nancy Gunawan
\nwould be conducted by city police psychologists.<\/p>\n
\"We wish to clarify her health status as soon as possible, but
\nwe have to wait until Monday as the police health unit is closed
\non Sunday,\" he told The Jakarta Post.<\/p>\n
According to the officer, it is believed that the young
\nwoman's mother was in a state of depression prior to ending the
\nlife of her 20-year-old daughter. She is being detained at
\nTanjung Duren Police station.<\/p>\n
On Saturday, Nancy shocked her neighborhood in Tomang when she
\nreportedly decided to kill her daughter Vivin by cutting her
\nthroat. She then reported her crime to the local neighborhood
\nchief.<\/p>\n
Vivin was found laying on her bed with her neck slashed.<\/p>\n
Officer Idham commented: \"Upon hearing her story, we can
\neasily conclude that she's mentally ill. But who knows, some
\ncriminal suspects prefer to be labeled crazy rather than receive
\nmaximum punishment.\"<\/p>\n
During preliminary interrogation, Nancy said she felt like
\ncommitting suicide shortly after killing her daughter, but drew
