Murder suspect 'fully' sane<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): A psychological test completed Monday on the
\nsuspect in a triple murder investigation in Jagakarsa showed that
\nhe was fully sane, according to the police.<\/p>\n
City Police spokesman Lt. Col. E. Aritonang said Tuesday that
\nthe Jamaluddin, a 22-year-old student, was examined by a police
\npsychological team.<\/p>\n
\"The test result shows that Jamaluddin is completely normal.
\nHe is able to think clearly and logically. He also said that he
\nwas very much conscious when he committed the murder,\" Aritonang
\nsaid.<\/p>\n
Therefore, Jamaluddin could be charged with the maximum
\npenalty of death under Articles 340 and 365 of the Criminal Code
\non murder, he added.<\/p>\n
Jamaluddin is the sole suspect in the brutal killing of a
\ncouple and their two-year-old son in Jagakarsa, South Jakarta,
\nearly last week.<\/p>\n
He allegedly admitted to planning the killing two months in
\nadvance.<\/p>\n
Psychological tests are needed to determine the mental
\ncapacity of alleged criminals, especially those facing long
\nprison terms or death, Aritonang said.<\/p>\n
\"The test is also held for suspects who commit crimes in
\nunique circumstances, such as in a case when a man beat up a
\npolice officer only because he heard the policeman blow a
