Murder case dossiers submitted to court<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): The Jakarta Provincial Prosecutors' Office is
\nplanning to submit a dossier of a 1991-1992 triple murder case in
\nthe United States case to the Central Jakarta district court on
\nMonday.<\/p>\n
The Attorney General's office has appointed prosecutor J.
\nKamaru to handle this case. Harnoko Dewantoro, known as Oki, is
\nthe prime suspect of the murders committed in Los Angeles, Antara
\nreported.<\/p>\n
The dossiers comprise five picture albums and eleven bundles
\nof police reports. The police have questioned 39 witnesses, 23 of
\nwhom are foreigners.<\/p>\n
The trial is expected to draw a great deal of public attention
\nbecause 16 people from the U.S., including Los Angeles
\ndetectives, are to be presented as witnesses, together with 14
\nlocals.<\/p>\n
Ten expert witnesses from the U.S. and one from Jakarta are
\nalso expected to testify.<\/p>\n
Oki, 32, is accused of killing his brother Eri Tri Harto
\nDarmawan, 26, a female friend Gina Sutan Aswar, 28, and his
\nIndian business colleague Suresh Mischandani, 45, on separate
\noccasions in Los Angeles in 1991 and 1992.<\/p>\n
Arrested in Central Jakarta in January 1995, Oki was tried and
\nis serving two years for counterfeiting passports.<\/p>\n
According to Antara, evidence to be presented includes two
\ncases and a suitcase used to store the alleged murder weapon, a
\nlocker, a video recording of the crime site and some documents
\nthat have been stored at the police headquarters forensic
