Muhammadiyah rectors to visit Britain<\/p>\n
SURABAYA: Eleven rectors of Muhammadiyah universities across
\nthe nation are slated to visit Britain later this month under the
\nsponsorship of the British Council.<\/p>\n
\"The visit is part of cooperation between Muhammadiyah and
\nBritain,\" Syafik Mughni, rector of the Muhammadiyah University in
\nSidoarjo, East Java, said here on Monday.<\/p>\n
He said the visit was aimed at exchanging information between
\nBritish Muslims and Muhammadiyah, Indonesia's second largest
\nIslamic organization.<\/p>\n
Syafik, who will be among the eleven visitors to Britain, said
\nthe delegates would visit the London Islamic Center, the Islamic
\nCultural Heritage Center, the Muslim College, the Islamic Relief
\norganization and the Islamic Human Rights Commission.<\/p>\n
They are also scheduled to hold separate discussions on
\ninterfaith relations with the Interfaith Network and leaders of
\nthe Anglican and Catholic churches.<\/p>\n
Earlier this year, two groups of eleven Muhammadiyah figures
\nmade visits to Britain in July and September respectively for
