        "content": "<p>On Monday (18\/05\/2026), Muhadjir Effendy was observed arriving at the\nKPK building at approximately 17:54 WIB and entered the interrogation\nroom at around 18:03 WIB. Dressed in a brown batik shirt, Muhadjorkan\noffered little comment regarding his examination.<\/p>\n<p>The KPK had previously stated earlier that day that Muhadjir had\nrequested a rescheduling of the examination related to the Hajj quota\ncorruption case. He was summoned in his capacity as the interim Minister\nof Religious Affairs in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the continuation of the investigation into the Hajj quota case,\ninvestigators scheduled an examination of witness MHJ in his capacity as\nthe interim Minister of Religious Affairs in 2022,\u201d said KPK\nspokesperson Budi Prasetyo to reporters on Monday. \u201cThe individual has\nconfirmed and requested a postponement of the examination. Investigators\nwill reschedule the session.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The KPK has named four suspects in this Hajj corruption case: former\nMinister of Religious Affairs Yaqut Cholil Qoumas (YCQ), former Special\nStaff to the Minister Ishfah Abidal Azis, also known as Gus Alex (IAA),\nthe Operational Director of PT Makassar Toraja (Maktour) Ismail Adham\n(ISM), and the Chairperson of the Kesthuri Association, Asrul Azis Taba\n(ASR).<\/p>\n<p>The KPK suspects that Ismail and Asrul provided funds to Yaqut, the\nformer Minister, via an intermediary, namely the former Special Staff,\nGus Alex. It is alleged that Ismail provided USD 30,000 to Gus Alex, and\nalso handed over USD 5,000 to the former Director General of Hajj and\nUmrah Services at the Ministry of Religious Affairs in 2024, Hilman\nLatief (HL).<\/p>\n<p>The KPK estimates that the state losses in this case amount to IDR\n622 billion, based on calculations provided by the Audit Board of\nIndonesia (BPK).<\/p>",
