An evaluation will be conducted
following the decrease in vehicle volume on toll roads.

Kakorlantas Polri Inspector General of Police Agus Suryonugroho
stated that the decision will be made after assessing the latest field
conditions on Saturday morning (21/3/2026). If the traffic generation shows no signs of
resurgence, the flow on the toll roads remains light, including low
traffic counts, then we will revoke and stop the national mudik one-way.
It is possible that it will be stopped in the afternoon,” said Agus.

Agus added that traffic on arterial roads is increasing but remains
under control through open-close scenarios, traffic diversions, and
contraflow. All regional police units have prepared anticipatory
measures to maintain smooth public mobility.

Conditions at transportation hubs such as ports, terminals, airports,
and stations are also monitored to be easing. Public activities ahead of
Eid are proceeding safely with security at various strategic points.

“In the field of public order and security, there have been no
prominent incidents so far; it remains conducive. In the field of
traffic security, there was a peak flow and traffic generation, but it
has been managed well,” said Agus.

Agus outlined that the number of accidents during the week of the
Ketupat Operation decreased by around 4%. A larger decrease occurred in
fatalities, reaching 28.9%.

Eid security is not only focused on traffic but also on public
activities during Ramadan up to Eid al-Fitr. Officers are on standby to
secure places of worship, including takbiran locations and Eid
prayers.

Dirlantas Polda Metro Jaya Senior Commissioner of Police Komarudin
stated that security in Jakarta is entering the next phase after the
mudik phase has passed. The focus is shifting to takbiran night
activities and Eid al-Fitr celebrations.

“We will enter the next stage, namely securing takbiran night
activities, which insha’Allah will take place tonight. On this occasion,
we urge the people of the Capital to avoid convoys and instead attend to
mosques in their respective neighbourhoods,” said Komarudin.

Car-free night activities are being held on the Sudirman-Thamrin
stretch with road closures from 18:00 WIB to 22:00 WIB on Friday night.
The closure time may be extended until midnight with 557 personnel on
standby for security and traffic management.

Security also covers Eid prayers, including at the Istiqlal Mosque
area which will be crowded with congregations.
