        "content": "<p>Approaching the Lebaran homecoming season in 2026, the Directorate\nGeneral of Land Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation has\nimplemented various measures to reduce accidents and enhance safety. In\naddition to offering free Mudik transport, the ministry has also\nconducted safety inspections of buses that will operate during Lebaran\n2026.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018This year, 143.9 million people will undertake Mudik journeys,\naround 50 percent of the population. Therefore, a series of regulations\nand policies are required. Since 23 February 2026 ramp checks have been\nconducted, 13,584 buses have been inspected,\u2019 said Director General of\nLand Transportation Aan Suhanan in an official statement on Thursday (5\nMarch 2026).<\/p>\n<p>Next, 1,645 units or 12.11 percent were prohibited from operating,\nand 415 units or around 3.06 percent received fines and were also\nprohibited from operating.<\/p>\n<p>Aan said the safety inspections would continue until 29 March 2026 at\nType A terminals, bus depots, rest areas, toll exits, and other\naccident-prone areas.<\/p>\n<p>Next, for the free Mudik programme, the aim is to reduce the number\nof two-wheeled commuters by providing a quota of up to 110,112 people to\nbe transported by bus, train, and sea vessels, and to transport 12,140\nmotorcycles by trucks and trains.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, Aan explained that the government through the Ministry\nof Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform also issued a Work From\nAnywhere (WFA) policy on 16 and 17 March during the Mudik period, and\n25\u201327 March 2026 during the return period. The aim is to ease congestion\nin social movement during the Lebaran transport period.<\/p>",
