Jakarta \u2014 PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (InJourney Airports) has\nprojected 9 million airline passengers during the Lebaran period in\n2026. The company forecasts 160 million passengers for the entire year\n2026.<\/p>\n
Chief Executive Officer InJourney Maya Watono stated that passenger\ntraffic projections for the Lebaran period this year represent an\nincrease of approximately 2% compared to 2025.<\/p>\n
\u201cDuring the Lebaran period, we expect 9 million passengers, an\nincrease of 2% compared to last year,\u201d she said during a press\nconference at Soekarno-Hatta Airport on Wednesday, 11 March 2026.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, Maya highlighted the volatile dynamics of the airline\nindustry resulting from geopolitical implications in the Middle East.\nHowever, the company will take measures to ensure Indonesia\u2019s airport\necosystem and tourism sector remain conducive to travel.<\/p>\n
\u201cGiven the geopolitical climate we are facing, we must anticipate\nthis appropriately. In certain previous periods there have been flight\ndelays and cancellations, among other issues. We are committed to\nproviding the best service to our customers and passengers,\u201d she\nstated.<\/p>\n
Maya noted that each member of the holding company will coordinate\nand work synergistically in addressing the current geopolitical\nsituation, ranging from airport operations and services to the broader\ntourism ecosystem. \u201cIt is impossible for this ecosystem to function from\nupstream to downstream without cooperation from all parts of the\necosystem,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
In the same opportunity, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of PT Angkasa\nPura Indonesia (InJourney Airports) Achmad Syahir stated that passenger\nprojections for the entire year 2026 reaching 160.7 million represent an\nincrease of 2% compared to 2025. Meanwhile, aircraft movements have\ndeclined 0.03% to 1,189,791. However, cargo aircraft have increased by\n1.8% to 1.559 million tonnes.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis presents a challenge for the airport and aviation industry.\nAmong our 37 airports, five are the busiest. These are CGK, Denpasar,\nSurabaya, Ujung Pandang and Medan,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Regarding the Lebaran period, he explained that the company will open\ncommand posts from 13 to 30 March 2026, with the first significant surge\non 13 March when more than 498,000 passengers are expected, with\napproximately 3,357 aircraft movements.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe peak is expected around 15 March 2026. The return flows are\nestimated for 28 March 2026,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n
Additionally, InJourney is anticipating government policy regarding\nwork-from-anywhere (WFA) arrangements. This could trigger higher\npassenger numbers due to extended holiday periods.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis also presents an opportunity for people to enjoy longer\nholidays. However, it is not entirely a holiday since work activities\ncontinue as usual but not from the office,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n
He indicated that passenger surges are expected at two airports:\nSoekarno-Hatta Airport and I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport in Denpasar.<\/p>\n
\u201cAt CGK on Saturday, 14 March 2026, approximately 179,000 passengers\nare expected. The return flow on 28 March 2026 is projected at 198,000.\nThis is for Soekarno-Hatta,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cMeanwhile, for Bali, on Saturday, 14 March 2026, approximately\n67,000 passengers are expected.
