Muara Enim Regent Edison now holds the status of a suspect for\nreceiving and giving bribes. He was recently designated by the\nCorruption Eradication Commission (KPK) as a suspect for bribing a party\nat the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) to condition the BPK\u2019s findings on\nseveral procurements in the Muara Enim Regency Government.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat is correct. So, later, because these are two related cases,\nthey will cross over. There are two suspects who are the same from the\nprevious case and the current case,\u201d said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo\nat his office in Jakarta, Thursday (11\/6). \u201cIn the previous case, these\ntwo suspects were suspected of receiving bribes; in this case, they are\nsuspected of giving them,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n
Besides Edison, the other suspect referred to by Budi is the\nSecretary of the Education and Culture Office for the year 2026, Abi\nNurwardani. Meanwhile, the suspected bribe recipients are Titin, a BPK\nCivil Servant, and a private party named Augus Dwianggara, also known as\nAngga. The latter is believed to be a confidant of a BPK Member V with\nthe initials BAR.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe suspects have currently finished their examinations and have\nbeen moved to be detained at the KPK Detention Centre Branch in the\nMerah Putih Building,\u201d said Budi.<\/p>\n
The case is still connected to a sting operation conducted by the KPK\nin the Jakarta and South Sumatra regions on 6-8 June 2026, related to\nsuspected bribery in the procurement of goods and services and the\nreceipt of gratuities for the 2025-2026 fiscal year within the Muara\nEnim Regency Government. Of the 10 people arrested, four have been named\nas suspects. The rest remain as witnesses.<\/p>\n
The designated suspects are Muara Enim Regent Edison; Secretary of\nthe Education and Culture Office for 2026, Abi Nurwardani; the regent\u2019s\nconfidant, Adi Triyadi; and a private party from PT Millenium Solusi\nAbadi (PT MSA), Cory Erin Hardi. They have been detained for an initial\n20 days starting from 9 June to 28 June 2026.<\/p>\n
In this case, Edison and Abi are suspected of receiving bribes from\nCory. Some of the money received was subsequently used to bribe parties\nat the BPK to condition the BPK\u2019s findings on procurements carried out\nby the Muara Enim Regency Government. \u201cOne of them is the procurement of\nsmart TVs or smart boards, which was previously procured by the private\nparty at the Education and Culture Office,\u201d explained Budi.<\/p>\n
