Mr and Miss Jakarta named<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Cucu Ahmad Kurnia, 24, and Fifi Aleyda Yahya,
\n22, have won the 1995 Abang and None (Mr. and Miss) Jakarta
\nContest, held at the Fatahillah Museum in West Jakarta Friday
\nnight.<\/p>\n
The two beat 14 other couples, many of whom suffered serious
\nstage fright when they had to walk in front of the audience,
\nwhich included Governor Surjadi Soedirdja and his wife, Minister
\nof Manpower Abdul Latief and a number of foreign ambassadors to
\nIndonesia.<\/p>\n
The stage fright also caused some gaffes on the part of the
\nparticipants. One repeatedly referred to his partner as abang
\ninstead of none, while another, in answer to a question from the
\ngovernor, said, convincingly, that Jakarta was 265 square
\nkilometers in size, instead of the correct 650 square kilometers,
\nSuara Pembaruan afternoon daily reported yesterday.<\/p>\n
Fifi Aleyda, a student at the School of Economy, Trisakti
\nUniversity, was also elected favorite female contestant. Born in
\nJakarta, on April 1, 1973, she represented West Jakarta.<\/p>\n
Cucu Ahmad Kurnia, is also from West Jakarta and a student at
\nthe Trisakti University.<\/p>\n
Favorite male contestant title went to Yanes Aldnetino.<\/p>\n
Runner-up for the None title went to Mariam Tadjudin and in
\nthe third place was Layla Safira Andarmawanty. Runner-up for the
\nAbang title was Benny Eka Putra, while the third place went to M.
