At the event, Ahmad Muzani was appointed as the inspecting officer\nfor the official opening of the competition and symbolically handed over\nthe trophy to the North Sulawesi Provincial Government, represented by\nthe Provincial Secretary, Tahlis Galang.<\/p>\n
In his speech, Ahmad Muzani stated that the competition is part of\nthe MPR RI\u2019s series of activities to commemorate the 81st Anniversary of\nthe Republic of Indonesia. He said that the provincial-level winner will\nrepresent North Sulawesi at the national final to be held in August 2026\nin Jakarta.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe hope that whoever will represent North Sulawesi Province later is\ntruly the best choice and is capable of becoming the national champion,\u201d\nMuzani expressed in his statement on Saturday (9\/5\/2026).<\/p>\n
According to him, the Marching Competition and flag-hoisting were\nchosen as a means to build the character of Indonesia\u2019s young generation\ntowards Golden Indonesia 2045. Muzani assessed that the participants,\nwho are current high school students, are the future leaders of the\nnation.<\/p>\n
\u201cAt the time when Indonesia turns 100 years old in 2045, all of you\nwho are here in front of us today are the ones who will lead Indonesia\nforward,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
He stated that the MPR RI wants to ensure that the young generation\nwho will lead the nation in the future are those who have a love for the\nhomeland, understand the constitution, and uphold national values.<\/p>\n
Therefore, the marching competition is not merely a physical\nactivity. Rather, it is part of forming character in discipline,\norderliness, and obedience to rules.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis competition must instil and strengthen discipline, orderliness,\nand obedience to rules as the main foundation for building the character\nof Indonesia\u2019s young generation,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
He emphasised the importance of instilling the spirit of nationalism,\nlove for the homeland, and the values of mutual cooperation through such\nactivities. According to him, participants from various ethnic,\nreligious, and cultural backgrounds reflect the spirit of Bhinneka\nTunggal Ika.<\/p>\n
In addition, the event was described as a forum for developing the\ncreativity and arts of the young generation combined with national\nvalues and national defence.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis competition also supports the implementation of the MPR\u2019s Four\nPillars, namely Pancasila, the 1945 UUD NRI, NKRI, and Bhinneka Tunggal\nIka, from an early age to the young generation,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n
Muzani added that hoisting the Red and White Flag requires strong\nmentality, skills, discipline, and courage. Therefore, he said that the\nMPR RI continues to popularise marching and flag-hoisting activities as\nefforts to strengthen love for state symbols and national unity.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn this way, we hope that the future Indonesia will be led by those\nwho love the state symbols, love unity, and togetherness,\u201d he\nexpressed.<\/p>\n
He said that similar activities are being held massively in various\nregions in Indonesia and involve high school students from all over the\ncountry.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe winner from North Sulawesi will later perform at the national\nfinal and be announced coinciding with the 17 August commemoration,\u201d he\nexplained.<\/p>\n
On that occasion, Ahmad Muzani also conveyed appreciation to all\nparticipants, coaches, schools, organising committee, and various\nparties supporting the event.<\/p>\n
Thanks were also extended to the Indonesian Purna Paskibraka (PPI) of\nNorth Sulawesi Province and the Korem 131 Santiago for their support in\norganising the competition.<\/p>\n

The competition, a collaboration between MPR RI and the North\nSulawesi Provincial Government, was participated in by 10 high schools\nfrom various areas in North Sulawesi, namely SMAN 1 Manado, SMAN 2\nBitung, SMA 1 Bitung, SMAN 1 Bintauna, SMAN 1 Kawangkoan, SMAN 9 Manado,\nSMAN 7 Manado, SMAN 8 Manado, SMA Kristen 2 Binsus Tomohon, and SMA\nKatolik Rex Mundi Manado.<\/p>\n
Each participant demonstrated marching abilities as well as skills in\ninstalling and hoisting the Red and White Flag.
