A member of Commission VII of the Indonesian House of Representatives\n(DPR RI), Teuku Zulkarnaini Ampon Bang, has encouraged the young\ngeneration of Aceh Scouts to become acquainted with the functions of\nstate institutions and parliamentary life from an early age in order to\nbuild national awareness and leadership character.<\/p>\n
\u201cThese Scouts are the future leaders of the nation. Today they come\nto the DPR RI building as guests and sit in the seats of DPR members.\nBut in the future, it is not impossible that some of them will return to\nthis place as members of the DPR RI, bringing aspirations and fighting\nfor the interests of the people,\u201d said Ampon Bang in his statement in\nJakarta on Friday.<\/p>\n
He made the remarks while receiving a visit from an Aceh Scout\ncontingent at the DPR RI building, Parliamentary Complex, Senayan,\nJakarta, on Friday.<\/p>\n
According to Ampon Bang, introducing state institutions to the\nyounger generation is important for building an understanding that\nleadership requires not only courage, but also knowledge, integrity,\nresponsibility and a spirit of service.<\/p>\n
He said the experience of seeing parliamentary activity first-hand\ncan help participants understand the role of the DPR as a people\u2019s\nrepresentative institution as well as the duties of council members in\nabsorbing and fighting for the aspirations of the public.<\/p>\n
\u201cFrom here they can see directly how state institutions work and\nunderstand that being a leader requires the responsibility to fight for\nthe interests of the people,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Ampon Bang also expressed hope that the experience would not end as a\nvisit activity, but would be shared with their surroundings after the\nparticipants return to their respective regions.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe hope that today\u2019s experience does not stop as a memory during the\nNational Jamboree. They can tell and share this experience with friends\nin Aceh. From here, national awareness and the spirit of leadership will\ncontinue to grow,\u201d said Ampon Bang.<\/p>\n
The visit was attended by Scout contingents from West Aceh, Nagan\nRaya, Aceh Jaya and Southwest Aceh regencies. The activity was part of\neducation after the participants took part in the XII National Scout\nJamboree at Cibubur Campground on 13\u201320 August 2026.<\/p>\n
While at the Parliamentary Complex, the participants were introduced\nto the DPR RI building environment, the functions of parliament, and the\nduties and responsibilities of DPR members as people\u2019s\nrepresentatives.<\/p>\n
Ampon Bang assessed that the first-hand experience could be one way\nto broaden the younger generation\u2019s insight into national and state life\nand encourage them to take a role in development.<\/p>\n
He expressed hope that the young generation of Aceh could use the\nexperience as a foundation for developing leadership capacity and\ncontributing to the community in their regions.<\/p>\n
