Move to sue PKB 'unreasonable'<\/p>\n
KEDIRI: The National Awakening Party's (PKB) decision last year
\nto suspend party leader Alwi Shihab and secretary-general
\nSaifullah Yusuf after the two accepted Cabinet posts was final, a
\nparty official said on Monday.<\/p>\n
PKB deputy leader Mahfud MD said the recent move by Alwi and
\nSaifullah to take legal action against the party was
\nunreasonable.<\/p>\n
"When the central board made the decision, Pak Alwi and Gus
\nIpul (Saifullah's nickname) attended the meeting and accepted
\nit," he said.<\/p>\n
Mahfud explained that the suspension of Alwi and Saifullah was
\na consequence of their decision to accept their appointments as
\nmembers of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono's Cabinet as the
\nPKB had decided not to support any candidates in last year's
\npresidential election.<\/p>\n
It has been reported that Saifullah was keen to join the race
\nfor PKB's top post at the upcoming party congress this month --
