        "content": "<p>The Geological Agency raised the alert status in Karo District on\nMonday, effective at 12:30 p.m. local time, following an eruption at\n10:17 a.m. local time.<\/p>\n<p>The eruption\u2019s ash column reached approximately 3,500 meters above\nthe summit, or roughly 5,960 meters above sea level.<\/p>\n<p>Following the elevation to Level III (Alert), residents, visitors,\nand tourists are advised against engaging in any activities within the\nvillages that have been relocated.<\/p>\n<p>Residents are also prohibited from conducting activities within a\nthree-kilometer radius of Mount Sinabung\u2019s summit and within a\nsix-kilometer sectoral radius in the south-southeast sector.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the threat of eruptions, people living near rivers\noriginating from Mount Sinabung are urged to remain vigilant regarding\nthe potential for lahar floods.<\/p>\n<p>The Geological Agency advises the public to remain calm and not be\nswayed by unverified information or rumors concerning Mount Sinabung\u2019s\nactivity.<\/p>\n<p>The public is urged to follow directives issued by the North Sumatra\nProvincial Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) and the Karo District\nBPBD.<\/p>\n<p>Local government authorities, including the North Sumatra and Karo\nDistrict BPBDs, are also requested to maintain active coordination with\nthe Mount Sinabung Volcano Observation Post in Ndokum Siroga Village,\nSimpang Empat Sub-district, Karo District.<\/p>\n<p>Updates on Mount Sinabung\u2019s activity can be monitored via the MAGMA\nIndonesia application, as well as through the official channels of the\nCenter for Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation (PVMBG) and the\nGeological Agency.<\/p>\n<p>Related news: Social Minister asks Mt.
