        "content": "<p>Mount Lewotobi Laki-laki in East Flores Regency, East Nusa Tenggara,\nerupted again this morning at 07:47 Wita (Western Indonesian Time).<\/p>\n<p>Herman Yoseph Mboro, an observer at the Mount Lewotobi Laki-laki\nObservation Post, stated that the volcano, which maintains a Level III\nAlert status, erupted with an observed ash column height of\napproximately 1,000 metres above the summit, or roughly 2,584 metres\nabove sea level.<\/p>\n<p>During the eruption, the ash column displayed a grey colouration with\nthick intensity directed towards the south-west and west.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis eruption was recorded on the seismograph with a maximum\namplitude of 11 millimetres and a duration of approximately 2 minutes 28\nseconds,\u201d Herman said in an official statement on Tuesday, 2 June\n2026.<\/p>\n<p>Herman urged residents in the vicinity of Mount Lewotobi Laki-laki as\nwell as visitors and tourists to refrain from any activities within a\n5-kilometre radius of the eruption centre.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, residents were asked to remain calm and follow\ninstructions from local government authorities and not to believe\nunclear sources of information.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cResidents near Mount Lewotobi Laki-laki should be alert to the\npotential for rainfall lahar floods on rivers originating from the\nsummit of Mount Lewotobi Laki-laki in the event of heavy rainfall,\nparticularly in the areas of Dulipali, Padang Pasir, Nobo, Nurabelen,\nKlatanlo, Hokeng Jaya, Boru and Nawakote,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Residents affected by ash fall were also advised to wear masks or\ncover their nose and mouth to avoid the dangers of volcanic ash to the\nrespiratory system.<\/p>",
