JAKARTA (ANTARA) -\nPolice have arrested a motorcycle thief identified as AG (46), suspected\nof carrying out thefts at three locations in West Jakarta. \u2018Preliminary\ninvestigations showed the suspect operated at least three different\ncrime scenes in close succession,\u2019 said Kanit Reskrim Polsek Grogol\nPetamburan AKP Alexander Tengbunan to reporters in Jakarta on Thursday\nevening. Alex explained the arrest began when the narcotics operations\nteam, conducting patrols in the Kapuk Kamal Raya area of Cengkareng,\nWest Jakarta, noticed AG\u2019s suspicious behaviour on Monday (25\/5) at\naround 3pm while riding a motorcycle from the Kampung Ambon complex.\n\u2018Officers detained him and conducted a body and clothing search, finding\na T-shaped key and its corresponding key as evidence,\u2019 he said. Based on\npreliminary checks, the suspect was moving between areas in West Jakarta\nto find targets. \u2018AG and the evidence, including the T-key and the\nmotorcycle, are now held at the police station,\u2019 Alex added. Police are\ncontinuing their investigation to identify fences and possible\nadditional victims or crime scenes linked to the suspect\u2019s serial\ncrimes. AG faces charges under Article 477 of the Criminal Code for\naggravated theft, carrying a maximum prison sentence of seven years.<\/p>",
