Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Criminal Investigation Unit of Matraman Police\nStation is investigating a motorcycle theft that occurred at the\nMatraman Community Health Centre (Puskesmas) building in East Jakarta on\nWednesday (18 February).<\/p>\n
Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit at Matraman Police Station,\nInspector Hadir Wibowo, said the victim had reported the incident to the\npolice shortly after it occurred.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe victim filed a police report yesterday at the police station. We\nare gradually taking statements from witnesses,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The police report now serves as the basis for investigators to carry\nout a series of investigative procedures.<\/p>\n
Hadir explained that his team had examined a number of witnesses who\nwere in the vicinity of the crime scene in order to gather additional\ninformation.<\/p>\n
In addition, police are attempting to identify the perpetrator\nthrough CCTV footage from cameras installed around the health centre\narea.<\/p>\n
However, the identification process has encountered difficulties.\nBased on the footage obtained, the suspect was seen wearing a cap,\nmaking facial recognition challenging.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are still making efforts to identify the perpetrator through\nfacial recognition, but it is proving somewhat difficult because he was\nwearing a cap. We are continuing our investigation,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Police are currently exploring various possibilities, including\ntracing the vehicle used by the perpetrator and mapping out the timeline\nof the incident in detail.<\/p>\n
The incident went viral on the Instagram social media account @jabodetabek24info<\/span>. The footage\nshows a lone perpetrator making off with a motorcycle.<\/p>\n Initially, the suspect, wearing a red shirt and black cap, arrived at\nthe scene. He then appeared to inspect several motorcycles parked in the\narea.<\/p>\n The perpetrator subsequently pushed away a motorcycle whose steering\nlock had not been engaged, before riding it out of the building.<\/p>",
