A 44-year-old man identified as J was arrested after stealing a\nmotorcycle and injuring a student couple in Desa Singa Bangsa, Tenjo,\nBogor Regency. The suspect was brutally beaten by a mob before being\ntaken into custody.<\/p>\n
A video of J being apprehended by residents went viral on social\nmedia. In footage viewed by detikcom, a man was surrounded by a crowd in\nfront of a shop, described as the perpetrator who had stolen a rider\u2019s\nmotorcycle. His face was visibly battered from the mob attack.<\/p>\n
\u201cYes, the suspect and evidence have been secured at Tenjo Police\nStation. The victim has filed a report, and the case is now under\ninvestigation,\u201d said Tenjo Police Station Chief Inspector Hendrik\nHartono on Thursday, 28 May 2026.<\/p>\n
Hendrik stated that the incident occurred around 1:30 AM on Thursday,\n28 May, when the victim, a male student identified as NO (18), was\nriding a motorcycle with a female passenger. The suspects cornered them\nand forcibly removed the ignition key.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe victim was cornered and had their ignition key pulled out, then\nambushed by two suspects. The victim resisted when the motorcycle was\nstolen. The suspects are believed to be two in number,\u201d Hendrik\nsaid.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe rider is a 18-year-old male student, with a female passenger.\nThe victim sustained minor leg abrasions from falling off the\nmotorcycle, with no serious injuries,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
Of the two suspects, one identified as J was apprehended by residents\nalong with the motorcycle used in the crime. The other suspect,\nidentified as N, managed to escape with the victim\u2019s motorcycle.<\/p>\n
