        "content": "<p>Motor shows exceed targets<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA: The just concluded second Jakarta Motor Show and the<br>\nsecond Jakarta Motorcycle Show ended on Sunday exceeding its<br>\ninitial targets of sales and visitors, the organizer said over<br>\nthe weekend.<\/p>\n<p>As of last Saturday, the total sales have well exceeded<br>\ninitial target of Rp 600 billion (US$65 million) with car sales<br>\namounted to more than Rp 913 billion and motorcycle sales reached<br>\nmore than Rp 11 billion for a total sales of more than Rp 924.6<br>\nbillion.<\/p>\n<p>PT Toyota-Astra Motor led the sales with 2,001 cars sold worth<br>\nmore than Rp 347 billion thanks to the newly unveiled Toyota<br>\nKijang Innova, already the fifth generation of the popular Toyota<br>\nKijang van.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, PT Astra Honda Motor sold the most motorcycles of<br>\n305 units worth some Rp 4 billion.<\/p>\n<p>Attendance was lower than expected with only about 180,000<br>\npeople visiting the events while organizer was expecting a hefty<br>\n200,000 visitors.<\/p>\n<p>Deadly bombing outside the Australian Embassy last Thursday<br>\nmight have an impact on the people's enthusiasm to visit the<br>\nshows. -- JP<\/p>",
